Nevesis...was that really necessary? You CAN explain yourself without flipping you at everyone. You also have to understand that this board doesn't condone that crap. Ever since I can remember there has never been any problems here until you came a long. Whenever I read a response like that it makes me want to rip your musically retarded solos to pieces. I remember an older post from another board a few months ago when you were being given constructive criticism you asked drummers to "step up" and prove that their playing was equal to yours to make sure their opinions were worthy. You seriously wanted them to post their solos so you could compare your playing with them and try to reassure that you are the best little drummer around. Most of the drummers here are better than you. They are also more mature than you. They also have enough self conficence to not worry what people on a message board think if they get ripped apart. You should also listen to what they say because it is plainly obvious. The same things have been said over and over...get over yourself, stop acting like a prick and teach yourself how to understand music and art. Your chops are ok but lack any speck of originality and spark...it is like a magic show. And you will probably reply and say that you know music because you play in fifty million bands and play millions of shows and fuck off and such but you really need to get your head out of your ass. You sound like you have some serious issues...and a big inferiority complex. Please wake up and understand how ridiculous you are being.

If you read HOD Posts often enough you'd notice how some HOD dudes never hold back as they judge/criticize in all honesty. It's not always done with tact, but hey, that's the way it is on any Forum. Again, it shouldn't surprise you. [img]smile.gif[/img]

nevesis, let me make one thing clear (and this is coming from someone who is your age and who admires your playing):

With an attitude like the one you have expressed in this thread, there are HUNDREDS of drummers in your area who might not have the chops you do, but will get and keep any gig over you.

There are a lot of well respected, professional drummers who frequent HOD that are reading your retorts and shaking their heads. I understand that you are angry, but you are making yourself look bad.

My advice to you is this:
Your drumming is technically great. You've put a lot of time and effort into it thus far and you are miles ahead of many others your (our) age. Now, work on your people skills. What would be inspiring to me and others as well would be if you were a great drummer, WITH A GREAT ATTITUDE.

Criticism MEANS you will hear thing's that you
DO NOT LIKE!!! and that do not alway's condone or support what you are doing. Criticism does not= getting advice that alway's FEELS good. It means you will get your world ROCKED! at times whether it is music or just life in general. You cannot ask for feedback which you do, than retaliate when it is something that you do not agree with. There are even times when WE KNOW that what is being said is right but PRIDE keep's us from accepting it.

I agree some of what was said to you could of came with more tact and some of the criticism just comes down to personal taste's and is not the GOSPEL truth as some like to make it sound like, we all dig what we dig. I happen to like open solo's apart from band inclusion, I am not so rigid as to blast something just because it does not pertain to a certain type of musical setting. But some of it(the criticism) was right and even if not all of it was right just take what you need to glean and throw the rest away, without sounding absolutely ridiculous. Again do not post and ask for feedback than retaliate when it is something you do not like. You can disagree without going absolutely overboard. When you ask YOU SHALL RECEIVE! that is what this is about. IF you do not ask than you will not hear what you like or do not like. Play it safe if that is what you need to do and do not post your work.

It is false reality.

Do not ever judge me without having ever spoken to me on the phone, or met me in person. If you ever did meet me you would see I am an extremely humble person, extremely nice and gentle and caring, but when challeneged in such a way as I was, I will let loose.

I was not given anything constructive by Dazzler's post. It was a bunch of horse shit plain and simple. Moose summed it up best in his reply to that.

I get plenty of gigs because know me as a great drummer with a very easy going personality. I am laid back and relaxed. But people have big internet testicles sometimes and feel the need to say things that are completely and utterly out of context such as dazzler did.

The people who posted constructive responses know who they are. They have helped me, I take them to heart to make me a better player. The people who posted bullshit like Dazzler will be flamed out the ass and I do not care what anyone thinks.

Bottom line, ANYONE is allowed to post constructive criticism of me about anything! Keep it constructive, give reasons why. But do not JUDGE my personality, do not JUDGE my entire facility on the drums and musical ability, without ever having seen or heard me play with a band.

If you step up and act like a tough guy and feel the need to rip me apart ignorantly, you will be ripped down ten times harder. I wish there was not people like Dazzler and other's who feel so insecure that they need to do that, but its a reality.

I do not want people insulting others, or threatining others on here. Ever. Disagree without insuliting or it's the ban-hammer for you. This goes for everyone. I'm not interested in the WHY. Just. Don't. Do. It.

Nemesis, you've got good technique, but you're really stiff around the sboulders and forearms. The more you facilitate the larger muscles the smaller muscles will follow, ie. Moeller method. This will also allow you to play faster. You are using to much finger to get the strokes out. It's quick, but not clean.

The hand to foot independence is good. The only thing negative I see about this part of your technique is that you obviously need to work out the dynamic between the two.

What type of drumming do you listen to, or prefer?

Granted the kid has some guns, but they need some polish. What's the point of playing fast if it's not clean. That would be like wearing a shirt with big holes in it.

Those may have been the stiffest ghost notes during a shuffle that I have ever heard. Too much finger.

I understand that it's a "competition" and whatever, but if you're going to put yourself on video, on a message board with some great musicians, then it's fair game.
My point is that this collage of cookie cutter licks is not hip. It lacks soul and pocket which is something I would practice if you want to work.
